I also heard that BP is planning on offering biodiesel. <br /><br />Also, I discovered that biodiesel would be lots better for people who have asthma like me. Green fuel has been around since 1900 when it was invented by Dr Rudolf Diesel. In fact, he used only vegetable oils in the first diesel engine.<br /><br />Apparently, the cost of mineral oils was cheaper at that time so the engine was modified to run them. It seems that cost factors and politics have made decisions for us in the past. In this information age, we are only limited by our desire to learn.<br /><br />Personally, I am starting to get tired of shelling out $35 a week for gasoline and my 1997 Chevy Blazer gets good gas mileage for an SUV. Biodiesel might just be the way to go. By the things that I have read all diesel engines can run on them.<br /><br />From what I have seen Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen are the only two car manufacturers who sell diesel cars in the United States. There seem to be only truck offerings from American car manufacturers. I wish I could afford a new Mercedes but I noticed on eBay that I could get a 5 year old car at a reasonable rate. <br /><br />Some people say that diesel engines will run forever. I suspect they could if taken care of adequately. Our Cuban neighbors are a great example of engine maintenance as most of the cars in Cuba are American 1950s models. <br /><br />I think that I am going to try green fuels.
